When your child starts school they will join our youngest learners in Waiteata Syndicate. Your child will be in one of our four Year 0/1 classes. We work really hard to provide safe, stimulating learning spaces for the tamariki to learn and play in. The transition into Waiteata needs to be as smooth as possible. We don't want tamariki feeling overwhelmed or anxious because a good start at school sets children up to succeed at school! We focus on the hauora - well being of our tamariki and believe in having a strong connection with families as their child's first teachers. We encourage you to bring any questions, queries or concerns directly to me, so we can address them straight away, creating the best possible learning environment for your child. Our classroom programmes include structured literacy, learning through play and education outside the classroom.
